Ludwig’s Roses Spring Rose Show 2014
The theme for Ludwig's Spring Rose Festival, held from 3 October to 12 October, is 'Peter Rabbit romps around the roses'.
Ludwig's Roses - a rose farm and venue - is a popular family destination in Pretoria North and this Spring rose festival is the highlight in it's calendar where they 'let the roses do the talking'.
The theme for this event is based on the much loved children's characters from Beatrix Potter novels and as such visitors can look forward to seeing Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck and friends will come alive amongst the thousands of blossoming roses for 9 days. Beautiful and interactive display gardens filled with roses, flowers and vegetables (lettuce of course), will set the scene for these life-sized characters to romping around in.
Other activities to enoy at the festival include rose viewings, novelty rose displays, walking or mountain bike trails, wine tasting, bird watching at the dam, tractor rides, picnics and shopping at the Rose Boutique or Fragrance Bar. Visitors can also have lunch at the resident restaurant, the Spiced coffee Restaraurant.
Kids entertainment is also full catered for and children can enjoy supervised rose planting, colouring in competitions,
quizzes and tractor rides. Groups and school trips are welcome. Your group/club/society/class can also book a free educational talk and demonstration.
Entrance to this event is free and visitors are welcome to enjoy the tractor rides, trails, birding and indeed, the roses, for free as well making it a great opportunity for a family outing that won't break the bank.
