McGregor Poetry Festival 2016
The third installment of the annual McGregor Poetry Festival will be taking place from 26 to 28 August 2016. With a strong line-up of both well-established poets and newcomers, it promises to be another great event.
More than 50 poets from around the country, as well as overseas guests will spend a hugely satisfying weekend in the pretty village McGregor in the heart of the Breede River Valley.
Participating poets will range from established icons of South African poetry, to strong new voices. Some of the poets taking part in this year's festival include Patricia Schonstein, Harry Owen, Douglas Skinner, Mavis Vermaak, Dr. Koos van der Merwe, Prof Adam Small, Khadija Tracey Heeger, Gert Vlok Nel and many many more.
Poets will share their work in readings, discussions and workshops.Other events include impromptu readings, musical performances, openmic sessions and movies.
Visitors to the show will also get the chance to meet and engage with the poets, as well as experience all the wonderful restaurants, art galleries and delightful venues that the McGregor Poetry Festival takes place in.
Expect superb red wine, log fires, cosy venues and excellent restaurants to go with your poetry experience.
