Port St. Francis Calamari Classic Festival 2014
The festival will take place on heritage day weekend, the 25-27 September 2014 and celebrates the heritage of St. FrancisBay, sports, lifestyle and, of course, calamari!
The festival has long been a favourite in particular with golfers and bowlers, and the sporting program has this year been extended with a two day doubles squash tournament and a dedicated sports day at Port St Francis.
The first sporting event on the day is a 5km/10km run followed by a swimming event around the jetties (400m, 800m or the Port St FrancisMile), a mid-day surfski race, the 'anything that float's competition around the jetties, a 5km trail run afternoon run and a mountainbike night ride.
One of the key attractions of the weekend is the night market which kicks off on Friday evening between 5pm and 9pm. There are arts and crafts stalls, food stalls, a calamari cookout and live music and entertainment.
On Saturday and Sunday, the Port St Francis Open Day takes place with more craft stalls and food stalls, kids competitions and evening entertainment.
On Sunday only, the market will also play host to a jetski run, boat rides, a fishing competition, informative talks and Chez Patrick's Music on the Square.
The Festival opens at 8am daily and runs through till late.
