Sun City Bierfest 2015
Bierfest is considered 'the next best thing' to attending the 'Oktoberfest' event in Munich. It is South Africa's largest annual beer festival that celebrates the delights of the Bavarian beer culture. Having been launched in the major cities around the country, Durban, Joburg and Cape Town, Sun City are hosting their inaugural Bierfest event from the 3-5 December 2015.
While predominantly a celebration of 'bier', attendees will have the opportunity to embrace 'all things Bavarian' - from Oompah music and lederhosen to German dishes to an array of Oktoberfest-inspired activities.
The Sun City Bierfest promises to be bigger and better than previous events. The use of 4000-seater authentic, 'Bavarian Brauhaus' will ensure that all attendees at the event are catered for. Regular bierfest-goers will be pleased to know that while minor changes have been made, the key elements and the festive spirit of Bierfest remain the same. Event-goers can look forward to some Oktoberfest-esque games in between beer guzzling. These include 'On-Ze-Spot' competitions and other participatory activities. Funny man and award-winning actor, Brendan Murry will be making an appearance for a laugh-a-minute performance.
Please note that the currency of choice are 'crowns' which can purchased online. Crowns are available in denominations of R30 and purchased in packs of five.
