Wilderness Cheese and Wine Festival 2016 - 10
The Wilderness Wine and Cheese Festival, formerly known as the Vodacom Wine and Cheese Festival, makes its return to the South Cape village for a three-day extravaganza of wine tasting, cheese tasting, and good music by local musicians. This year marks the thirteenth annual festival and promises to be bigger and better than before. Lovers of fine vintages and gourmet grub are invited to attend the event from 13-15 May 2016.
Festival-goers can taste Kingwill Cheeses accompanied by wines straight from the cellars of Alvi's Drift, Van Loveren, Orange Rivier Kelder, and many others. If wine-drinking and cheese-sampling don't tickle your fancy, browse the numerous craft stalls for clothes, skincare products, arts and crafts, and a miscellany of market knickknackery.
Music-lovers can look forward to live music by some of South Africa's best local talent, including the likes of Steve Newman, Heather Waters, LeRoy, The Sequence Band, Cobalt Blu, Ben Badenhorst, Brent and Lorette, Ray McAdams, and several others.
While keeping event-goers is the central focus of the festival, safety is important too. Children are kept entertained at the kid's play zone, Twinkletots. The area is secured and watched over by experienced childminders.
Ample parking will be available, as well as a shuttle service to ensure that attendees get home safely after a day of wine tasting.
Tickets can be pre-booked online and will be available at the door on the day of the event.
