Overview

AasvoŽlkrans is a B & B on the outskirts of historic and picturesque Montagu - the Western Cape's gateway to the Little Karoo. The main house and guest units were designed by the host's award-winning designer and daughter. AasvoŽlkrans is steeped in a tranquil Platteland atmosphere with the magnificent red sandstone rock formations of the Little Karoo as backdrop. Guests can choose from three guest units with large bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. All of the rooms are decorated to reflect the rustic ambience of the area. Situated in the Little Karoo, the town of Montagu is about 180 kilometers from Cape Town, and 200 kilometers from Oudtshoorn, the Little Karoo's ostrich capital. Outdoor activities in the area include visiting the hot Springs, rock climbing or taking the popular tractor ride to the top of the Langeberg Mountains. The rates for children are R50 per person. Out of season you can enjoy a 20% discount on all tariffs. The rates for a single person depend on the occupancy at the time of booking.
AasvoŽlkrans is a stud farm, so it offers facilities of the outdoor kind. In summer, cool off in the private swimming pool, or go hiking in the mountains. There is plenty of sunshine in the large garden, and when the sun goes down, experience the romanticism of bright starry nights. The guest units each have a large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. All the bathrooms have showers as well. The units have single and double beds to choose from, as well as heated floors for the wintertime. All linen is 100% hand embroidered linen. The facilities can sleep six adults and four to five children. One of the rooms has a television. The luxurious en-suite bathrooms all have showers and are decorated with paintings and kelims. The main house has a spacious and comfortable lounge that guests can use. The bedrooms in the guest units have private, shady little stoeps where you can relax and enjoy drinks and conversation. The fresh farm air at AasvoŽlkrans will definitely give you an appetite. Guests can enjoy large, beautifully laden breakfasts in the dining room. If you have any specific preference, your hosts will happily cater for it. The town has many restaurants, such as the Wild Apricot Restaurant and Preston's Restaurant and Thomas Bain Pub (open seven days a week, 9am till late).
