Enjoy the Drakensberg’s heavenly scenery from the peace and privacy of this home away from home. Acorn Cottages is situated on a working farm in the Champagne Valley at the foothills of Monk’s Cowl and Cathkin Peak. We’re centrally based in the most popular part of the Central Berg, with all the highlights – Champagne Castle, Cathedral Peak, the majestic Amphitheatre at the Royal Natal National Park, Injisuthi and Giants Castle – just a short drive away.
The accommodation is charming, cosy and spacious. Each unit has a tea station and a bar fridge and some are kitted with a Queen Ann fireplace. All have private entrances opening onto patios or the lush garden and on good weather days breakfast can be enjoyed under the shade of the Acacia tree.
Being just 4 km off the Champagne Valley’s main route, we have the best of both worlds: total peace and quiet in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with loads of entertainment just around the corner.
With a myriad of hiking trails, restaurants and fun things at our doorstep, you’ll never have a dull moment! The Valley offers golfing, birding, a falcon show, the world-famous Drakensberg Boys’ Choir as well as many more exciting activities such as guided horse trails, mountain biking and a thrilling zipline tour through the dense canopy of the indigenous trees that adorn the Berg’s photogenic ravines.
Once home after a day of adventure in the outdoors, you can sit back in the rock pool or simply relax with a Sundowner on your own verandah – one of the friendly farm dogs with gladly keep you company!
