The Angler and Antelope Guesthouse offers a unique experience. The venue has maintained the ambiance of yesteryear with the comforts of the modern era. The town and surrounding area of Somerset East stirs the soul. Slightly off the beaten track, 24 km's from Cookhouse west off the N10 between Port Elizabeth and Cradock, Somerset East lies at the foot of the Boschberg Mountain. It is an undiscovered gem that reveals it's depth of character when you are up close and personal. Activities are exclusive - for that moment in time you'll be the only one absorbing it's beauty, and you'll feel you are a piece of it, forever.
The guesthouse is perfectly situated and appointed for the business traveller; within walking distance of the business district, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the surroundings. The Culinary centre, an old church built in 1906, boasts a spirited character. Seated under Oregon beams on custom made Blackwood furniture, you might find yourself contemplating, as your taste buds are tantalized by the aromas of wholesome country cooking. Don't forget to sample some of the Malt Whiskies on offer, though you may need more than a couple of days to try over 60 of them! If you find yourself confessing to enjoyment and relaxation, you're probably standing at the old confessional, now the reception.

Somerset East is a delightful town. After a long day in the car we pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Angler and Antelope. The accommodation was excellent; lovely linen and duvets, huge modern bathrooms, and everything was very neat and clean. The home cooked dinner was divine as was breakfast in the deli in the morning. Excellent service and value for money.
