Overview
Situated in a prime Eco estate at the foot of the mighty Drakensberg, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Birdsong cottages are comprised of 2, beautiful, fully serviced homes in a secure and peaceful environment. The houses are situated some 60m apart. Both homes have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and sleep up to six Adults in great comfort. The houses were completely re-furbished over the last 18 months and offer a full domestic cleaning service, all linen and a fully equipped kitchen. You will be delighted by the feel of pure luxury in a pristine environment. Both cottages have also got Braai [Barbeque] facilities.
The Champagne Valley is home to many wonderful leisure facilities, including the following: Forest Canopy tour, Bird of prey display centre, Top class golf course, magnificent walks into the National Park. Further attractions include several restaurants,bars and a small shopping centre for essentials and souvenirs. There is plenty to amuse the most diverse of tastes, however the scenery is unsurpassed, both homes boast wonderful viewing decks and excellent views.
Wildlife proliferates in the area, over 300 species of bird have been recorded in the valley. A vultures restaurant on the estate is frequented by a large colony of Cape vultures, residents of the mighty Drakensberg. Many mammals including Porcupine, Bushbuck, Jackal, Serval and Cape clawless Otters occur here. The properties enjoy expansive views of the little Berg an ancient indigenous forest and a lake.

Daily cleaning service included as well as DSTV. All linen, crockery, cutlery and glassware. All 3 bedrooms have private bathroom, fans for summer and heaters for winter. Long stay rates available on request for mid January until mid March. Peak rates apply over certain holiday periods. Off peak periods reduced rate offered for less than six guests.

Wonderful, comfortable 3-bed home in a great location. Easy access to all that the Cathkin area has to offer. A nice place to relax & unwind with wide open spaces around you. Birdlife is amazing!
Our only shortcoming-gripe is that even though the facility is fully self-catering, the very basic amenities are missing such as matches, first pile of wood for the fireplace, bathroom soap, welcome tea/coffee sachets esp. if you arrive late.
