We are a family run guest house. Our property has 6 bedrooms, beautifully furnished with custom made furniture, quality linen and down duvet inners. Each bathroom has a walk-in shower with luxurious Egyptian cotton towels & environment friendly guest amenities. In the bedroom there is a Nespresso machine with pods, coffee/tea station, aircon/heater, USB plug points next to the bed as well as above the desk in the room, mini fridge, hairdryer, safe, luggage rack & cupboard. We have no self catering nor braai facilities. We are unfortunately unable to accommodate children under the age of 12 years old. Our rate is inclusive of a really yummy breakfast, including an extensive cold buffet & eggs etc to order. Many of our guests have said that it is the best guest house breakfast in South Africa :) The restaurant is open to our in-house guests in the evening for dinner, bookings & pre-orders are essential. One of our house specialties is the local line fish, sourced directly from the harbour in Kassiesbaai. All our wines are South African & some are bought from our local wine farms, they are outstanding. The warm Indian Ocean washes onto the white sandy beaches, the perfect place to relax and unwind, this is what a beach holiday is all about.
Arniston is a tranquil fishing village approx 210 km’s from Cape Town, on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa. The village of Kassiesbaai boasts iconic white washed, thatched roof fishermans’ cottages. The Arniston sank here in 1815, only 6 of the 378 passengers survived the disaster. The ocean is turquoise, with white sandy beaches, dotted along the shore line there are beautiful rock pools to explore. Prehistoric fish traps made by the Khoisan strandlopers (beach walkers) still remain along the coastline. These stone built enclosures trap fish at high tide. Waenhuiskrans means wagon house cliff, big enough to house a wagon and oxen. De Hoop and Die Mond reserves flank Arniston.
