Chavonnes Farm cottage is a unique farm stay. Relax and spend quality time in a very comfortable, fully equipped self catering cottage on our wheat and sheep farm in Overberg. Set against the southern mountains the farm is 8 km from Caledon.
Tranquil oak trees and a big lawn in front provide shade for lazy summer days at the barbeque. The open canola fields host the protected blue crane bird population, a feast for the eye and bird fanatics while the river supplies a prolific bird life of which more than 40 species have been identified.
Our cottage is tucked away next to the manor house, has a private entrance, is safe, sleeps 4 and offers fine percale linen, towels and a warm ambiance. The large living room has a fireplace and invites you to warm winter nights by the fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, micro wave, kettle, toaster, iron and a fridge/freezer.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 single beds. The ensuite bathroom consists of a shower and ablutions.
Enjoy a unique experience of fynbos mountain treasures and tranquil days under shady oak trees and star filled nights whilst staying in this very comfortable self catering cottage. Enjoy beautiful views of the Overberg whilst taking mountain walks or biking, fishing or swimming in the crystal clear pools (on your own risk). From the outside seating area watch the black eagle soar overhead or the prolific blue crane bird population that roam the rich wheat and canola fields. The river in front provides a prolific bird life.
For the more energetic, the beautiful fynbos mountain walks offers you panoramic views of the Overberg. Enjoy the crystal clear spring-water dams for swimming or fishing, picking your own waterblommetjies or simply watch the sunset over the hills.

We loved our farm stay. The beautiful view and being surrounded by new lambs and nature was so special. The fantastic lawn area in front of our cottage was also well maintained. Our host Charline was friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We will be back!
