Cleopatra Mountain offers self-catering accommodation and is situated on a private farm, in the heart of the Kamberg Valley in KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg. Guests can enjoy normal mountain pursuits such as swimming, mountain hiking, scenic walks, and other activities. River Run Cottage: This self-catering cottage contains 3 en-suite bedrooms, one of which is an attic bedroom. The cottage features a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a cosy lounge with braai/BBQ facilities. The cottage contains a TV with selected DStv channels, and a boma with outdoor BBQ/braai facilities. Cleopatra Homestead: This exclusive double-storey 12-sleeper villa is situated right on the Little Mooi River and comprises 6 en-suite bedrooms. The villa boasts a well-equipped farm-style kitchen, an open-plan living and dining area, a TV with DStv, and BBQ/braai facilities for guests to enjoy using. Please ask when you arrive for our full seasonal range of activities on the farm and in the area.
We are tucked away in the beautiful Kamberg Valley close to Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve, and all the normal mountain pursuits such as swimming, mountain hiking and scenic walks are available. Highmoor Nature Reserve makes up 90% of our border and has just been declared a world heritage site because of its inherent beauty. It is a 10 minute drive from Cleopatra in a normal motor vehicle, (cars can be parked at the top). Horse riding in the Drakensberg is extremely popular and is a 10 minute drive down the road on the most beautiful Appaloosa horses. Trout fishing is available all year round, so please speak to us about the best places to fish. We have a helicopter on standby which will pick you up in our garden and fly you over the Little Berg to Giants Castle. There are 184 craft stops on the Midlands Meander, from woodturners to potters, to cheesemakers, weavers and much, much more.
