Overview

Nestled in the peaceful countryside, just 22 km outside of Mthatha, Dan’s Country Lodge is set in the backdrop of vast rolling hills, with clean, fresh air and bright starry night skies. Located in an idyllic setting on a 24-acre estate, the lodge offers guests a choice of elegant rooms and units that are furnished with queen-size, king-size or double beds with electric blankets, and have en-suite bathrooms with baths and showers. The air-conditioned rooms are equipped with desks, TVs with DStv, tea and coffee-making facilities, microwaves, bar fridges, and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Delicious English and continental breakfasts are available, and the lodge is the ideal venue for weddings or conferences, with six banqueting halls as well as an 800-seater marquee, all of which are air-conditioned. Secure off-street parking is provided.

Dans Country Lodge is located closer to the home of one of the three Nelson Mandela Museums and the home of the legends such as Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Dr. Dan Pasiya, Kaiser Matanzima, Odwa Ndungane, Nkosinathi Maphumulo aka Black Coffee, etc. The city is a colourful and lively centre of the region. It stands on the banks of the Mtata River from which the city derives its name from the word thatha (taker), owing to the damage and fatalities caused by the flooding river.
