Overview

For an authentic South African experience, look no further than Elandspoort Private Game Reserve. Set between two stunning mountain ranges and bordering the magnificent Baviaanskloof, our vast landscape provides the perfect atmosphere, complemented by our warm and inviting hospitality. The River Lodge is located inside the game camp and can accommodate a minimum of 6 guests The north-facing River Lodge is located on the banks of the Olifants River. It is completely off the grid. The main structure includes one large bedroom with a queen-size bed, an open-plan living, a fireplace, a kitchen, a bar, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet.

There are two bedrooms next to the main building, one with a queen bed and the other with two single beds. There is an outside shower and toilet for these bedrooms. An additional 4 guests can be accommodated in our two permanent tents on request, each with a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, a bar fridge, and coffee station, located 80 metres from the main building down a wooden road. Our tents are not available as single units unless the whole property is booked. The self-catering farmhouse can accommodate 6 guests and features 3 bedrooms furnished with queen beds and 2 single beds. The bathroom has a walk-in shower a double wash basin and a toilet. The two buildings lead out onto a large spacious covered porch and outside braai boma (uncovered).

Nestled in between two mountain ranges and situated on the edge of the Baviaanskloof, the expansive surrounding terrain will set the mood, while we create the accommodating ambience. Each corner of this farm is unique – from the rock art of the Bushman to the rock canyons, from the natural water Springs to a small Waterfall in the rainy season.

With very healthy fauna and flora, you can enjoy the ecosystem’s smaller presence of indigenous trees, flowers, fynbos, birds, tortoises, and smaller game. Of course, we also have some well-adapted bigger game to observe, including Eland, Gemsbuck, Giraffe, Kudu, Sable, Zebra, Blesbuck, Springbuck, Ostrich, and lots more. Slow Living Baviaans Mountain Bike Tour is a 5-minute drive away. Uniondale is a 34-minute drive away, here, guests can find various restaurants and cafes. The nearest airport, Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport, is 269 km away.
