Welcome to Gala-Gala Eco Resort. The word Gala-Gala means Gecko in the local dialect. The bush surroundings we enjoy are teaming with many Geckos so this was the inspiration for our name.
Ponta do Ouro means point of gold, it is a quaint little town in southern Mozambique just 8km from the South African border. A mere 5 hours from Durban and 7 hours from Johannesburg it’s the perfect spot for weekend getaways or long lazy holidays. You will find beautiful beaches, dune forests, awesome diving and ever stretching deep blue seas. The town is a buzz of activity with markets of food and crafts. Mozambique is 4×4 territory there are no tar road so you will need a suitable vehicle. Border transfers can be arranged at a cost per person return from the Kozi Bay border only. There is no transfer service from Maputo, you will have to make use of the local taxi service.
The resort offers different choices of accommodation from exclusive private deluxe en-suite cabanas, to standard cabanas with social communal facilities to private camp sites with their own bathrooms. Gala-Gala offers a unique holiday experience difficult to match according to our many loyal returning visitors. It is an intimate operation, ensuring personal attention and service. The barefoot luxury and tranquility of our resort makes the stress of the world drain from your body the minute you walk in under the trees. With many alluring features, it boasts a quiet sandy beach a short walk from the resort, Blowing Bubbles Diving dive centre on site, nature trails, amazing birds & Butterflies and pristine amenities.

Where pricing is “per unit” the Average Price Per Person based on maximum occupancy is used for the price range comparison.
