Gonjah Chalet, Campsite and 4X4 Route

Overzicht

GONJAH CHALET
The chalet is 1km from the turn off at the Moos se Kloof Gonjah Chalet signboard. Chalet is self catering and fully equipped with gas facilities. Two bedrooms sleeps 4 people. Wooden deck with braai outside and fireplace inside.

4X4 ROUTE
The trail is broken down into two parts. A 12km long one that takes three hours to complete and another 20km circle route which takes five to six hours. Both routes snake through a variety of veldtypes from Eastern Cape scrubs with its varieties of aloes to fynbos in the mountains, and indigenous forest in the Kloof. There is also a good chance of spotting nyala, ribbok, duiker, rooibok, bushbuck and birds such as the Knysna Loerie, hawks and eagles. The route climbs to 570m at its highest point where a view site offers sweeping views of the valley well known for its citrus and vegetable farming. At the other end of the trail visitors get a view of Cockscomb mountain.

CAMP SITE
Under indigenous trees in tranquil Kloof. Hotwater shower and flush toilet. At night one can hear the barking of a bushbuck.


PLEASE NOTE:

Gonjah unfortunately does not allow any animals because our chalet, campsites and 4x4 route is situated in a private game “reserve” (privaat wildkamp).

Sleeps 4 people. Gonjah is a fully equipped self catering chalet with two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom, a wooden deck outside with braai facilities and a fireplace inside. Bedding and towels are provided. Free WiFi. Electricity, with gas facilities . We do not provide wood. Camp site: Underneath indigenous trees next to a small mountain stream. Basic facilities: Flush toilet and shower with donkey system. Make fires in the provided fireplaces. We do not provide wood. 4x4 route: Two routes. One sircle route of 20km and one of 12km. The 20km route is graded 3-4 by The Drive Out magazine. The route goes through different veld types, Indigenous bush, East Cape bush and Fynbos.
