Hopewell hosts up to twelve guests ensuring a tailor made experience that exceeds your expectation of an unforgettable stay.

Guests enjoy the exclusivity of the 6600-acre authentic African- bush nature reserve. The secluded, spacious lodge, overlooking a panoramic landscape is open aired and light, with thatch insulating against the African summer heat. The interior designed living area is comfortably furnished in a classic safari style combined with a contemporary feel, with a fire place strategically positioned which warms against the winter chill. The stylish lounge and dining room leads to a wooden deck with spectacular views of a water hole and lush valleys in the distance. Upstairs hosts an intimate recreation and conference area and our six elegant suites are all equipped with en-suite bathrooms. 3 of the Private Suites have their own swimming pools.

Hopewell Private Game Reserve is home to an abundance of flora and fauna including over 285 species of birds, a herd of elephant, hippo, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, a variety of antelope and other indigenous species, all this is consistent with a balanced ecosystem. A visit to Hopewell will leave you relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to book your return visit.

"I am a person who loves words and loves to write and Hopewell has filled me with silence and peace and left me speechless."

Barbara Geary

Hopewell lies at the eastern end of the famous Garden Route, providing an ideal home base from which to explore the Eastern Cape.

Activities available on the reserve range from game drives and nature walks, bird watching from hideouts situated around the property, sundowners in a tree house or simply relax by the pool or at the lodge where friendly staff are ready to attend to your every need.

Our in-house chef will ensure that every meal you experience at Hopewell will be a memorable one. The secret to our culinary success lies in the fact that only the best, freshest and most wholesome ingredients go into the preparation of our dishes.

Either before or after a morning game drive, traditional full English and continental breakfasts are served on the main deck, this will be the perfect start to the day.

Lunches are served on the main deck and every effort is made to incorporate local flavours, textures and colours into the dishes, select a bottle of fine South African wine from our cellar or choose a beverage of your choice from the fully stocked bar area.

No two meals at Hopewell are the same and dinner will be no exception, our chef prepares a variety of dishes never wandering far from true South African style and taste, ranging from a sizzling barbeque to a five course meal.

Venues range from the traditional boma dinner under the stars , fine dinning in our dinning room or weather permitting , a four course bush dinner under a majestic lantern lit Septee tree on the reserve - a once in a lifetime experience.

For those seeking a more private and romantic dining arrangement, let our staff set a table for two at a location of your choice.
