Overview
Ilala Country Lodge lies 5km north-west of Musina on the R572 (Pontdrift Road) and right along the African Ivory Trail , with the World Heritage Iron Age
Archaeological Site of Mapungubwe 40 km away.and 13 km from Beit Bridge border post.
The self-catering chalets and main complex had been constructed in stone and thatch, blending perfectly with the natural Bushveld surroundings of the 240 ha game estate.
The lodge, located on an escarpment , overlooking the Limpopo River Valley offers sweeping views of giant baobabs and distant Zimbabwean hills, just over the border.
Ilala Country Lodge lies within the former BAOBAB Conservancy promulgated by Premier Jan Smuts and fine specimens of these giants can be seen on the estate.
Game species include: Impala, Gemsbok, Kudu, Duiker, Warthog etc. and various small mammals.
