Overview

Karoo Koelte Guest House/B & B is an old homestead situated in the original village of Victoria West, between Moonlight Hill and Victoria West Mountain. Karoo Koelte is furnished with inherited antique furniture and decorated with a warm and relaxed feel for your comfort. Your room comes with a standard five star prescribed quality mattress, pure cotton percale linen, TV(1.2.3.& e), ceiling fan, fridge, coffee and tea facilities with homemade rusks and biscuits (cookies). In winter there are electric blankets on all the beds and wall-mounted heaters to keep our guests snug and warm

One of the four rooms is Karoo Koelte’s en-suite for people with disabilities: It features an obstacle-free shower room accessible to wheelchairs. The taps and shower are specially designed for Tetraplegic and Quadriplegic persons. The premises have been tested by a wheelchair user.

Worth a visit: The Mannetjies Roux rugby museum. The Local museum, one of three regional museums in the Northern Cape, has genuine fish fossils.

The Moonlight Hill walking trail provides a panoramic view of our whole village and has interesting birdlife, it is also home to the Black Eagle and indigenous plants. The Karoo has an estimated 7000 plant species, which is three times higher than that of the United Kingdom. The surrounding area is the habitat of the Riverine Rabbit.

Annual events are;

The Agricultural Show in February and the Karoo Golf Classic in May.
The Apollo Theatre, still in its original state, dates from the fifty's and houses the South African Film Festival during September.

Tuis Huis is 'n ouwêreldse selfsorghuis in die Karoo-dorpie Victoria-Wes. Die huis is ideaal vir 6 mense en bied verblyf in 3 slaapkamers wat 'n badkamer met 'n stort deel. In die eerste slaapkamer is daar 1 dubbelbed, in die tweede slaapkamer 3 enkelbeddens en in die derde slaapkamer 1 enkelbed. Die kombuis is toegerus met 'n tweeplaatstofie, yskas, ketel en broodrooster. Die leefarea het 'n klein eet- en sitarea en 'n TV met plaaslike kanale. Daar is braaigeriewe waarvan gaste gerus gebruik kan maak en parkeerplek word voorsien.
