Karoo Retreat Gastehuis offers self-catering and room-only accommodation and is located in central Oudtshoorn. The guest house offers a comfortable base from which to explore the town's surrounding attractions and facilities. Accommodation comprises Luxury Villas, Standard Double Rooms, Comfort Family Units, and a Two Bedroom Family Unit. Each option features a private bathroom and contains amenities such as air-conditioning, a TV with selected DStv channels, a small dining table/desk, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The Luxury Villas, Standard Double Rooms, Comfort Family Units offer heat-and-eat appliances such as a microwave and a bar fridge. The Two Bedroom Family Unit can accommodate 5 adults and 1 child or just 5 persons & features 2 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; the 5th person and child share a double sleeper couch. Karoo Retreat Gastehuis boasts a braai/BBQ area, free Wi-Fi, a shared Jacuzzi, laundry services by arrangement, and free secure parking. Breakfast and lunch packs can be arranged at various extra costs. Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. There are quite a few restaurants, shops, and other businesses nearby in the town centre. One can visit the ostrich farms in the area, or guests can go explore the Cango Caves that are situated 28 km away. Nearby activities include horse riding, bird watching, wine tasting, cycling, game drives, game viewing, guided walks, and mountain biking.
Oudtshoorn is the largest town in the Little Karoo, situated along the renowned Cape Route 62 in the Western Cape. It boasts the largest ostrich population in the world, featured at a number of excellent ostrich show farms around the town. Other attractions include the Cango Caves and the Klein Karoo wine route.
