Macachula Beach Lodge

Overzicht

Macachula Beach Lodge is an ideal getaway for self catering, camping, 4 X 4 and fishing enthusiasts who enjoy adventure, outdoors and the sea. We are situated on 4 hectares of a secluded portion on the northern bank of the Pomene Lagoon, 55 km from Massinga. The sea and endless white beaches are at your feet.
The lagoon is tidal salt water and permanent access to the sea is via the mouth which is accessible even at low tide.
The Chalets are equipped for self catering and bedrooms are ensuite, with linen, towels and mosquito nets provided.Guests are requested to bring their own food and drinks, a gas bottle (gas stove provided) and if possible a camp fridge. Deep freeze facilities are provided.
Access is via 4by4 vehicles only and the last few km can be sandy during dry seasons. Fisherman should bring their boats for deep sea fishing. Please note that Mozambique is a malaria area and suitable precautions should be taken. Tabbard, mossie coils etc

The lodge consists of self catering chalets with kitchen / pantry facilities. Solar power is available but guests are advised to bring their own generator/dual battery system if they have large loads.

There is 24 hour security and the chalets are serviced daily. Laundry service is available for a small fee.
Martin is the host and is based on site and will organise fresh Portuguese rolls and fresh fruit and veg for you every morning, delivered to your doorstep.


Paradise Lodge, a 5 minute walk down the lagoon, offers a pub and restaurant overlooking the lagoon as well as fishing charters, scuba diving and snorkelling, fishing licenses and ice.

4 Camping Sites

There are 4 campsites situated under trees on the edge of the beach. Baracca with a plug point (solar dependent) and a water point on the sites. There is space for for 4X4 trailer rigs, tents and 4X4 caravans. Each campsite can accommodate up to 6 people . The ablution block has hot showers. Please bring your own generator if you require power 24/7.

Casa 1 Flamingo

Casa Flamingo is a self-catering chalet with two double en-suite bedrooms overlooking the lagoon and sea. It has a large lounge area and a kitchen with a pantry. The building is rustic, consisting of brick to about 1.5 m and the rest is thatch and reed construction. Windows consist of reed blinds which can be used during stormy conditions. We have limited solar electricity for lights/plugs and guests may bring their own generators for camping fridges if they require power 24/7. The beds have mosquito nets, linen and towels are provided. There is an outside braai overlooking the lagoon.

The beds have mosquito nets, linen and towels are provided. There is an outside braai overlooking the lagoon

We have limited solar electricity for lights/plugs and guests may bring their own generators for camping fridges if they require power 24/7. The beds have mosquito nets, linen and towels are provided. There is an outside braai overlooking the lagoon.
