Overview

Welcome to Outspan Safaris and Private Game Reserve. This hidden treasure is situated only 60 km from East London on the N2 travelling towards Durban
The Private Game Reserve is situated in the malaria free Eastern Cape and is privately owned. The reserve boasts with a number of game, bird and plant species.

Game species that can be seen on our game drives include the following:
Nyala, Eastern Cape Kudu, Greater Kudu, Cape Bushbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Burchell's Zebra, Southern Impala, Common Blesbok, Warthog, Grey Duiker, Mountain Reedbuck, Bush Pig, Chacma Baboon, Vervet Monkey etc.

The Reserve is partly mountainous, with gorges, waterfalls and hanging cliffs, offering some of the most spectacular views in Southern Africa. Open plains and bush that vary from pristine to ravine together with impassable wild areas create a haven for the above mentioned species.

At the Lodge you can relax and feel the heart of Africa in the vibrating rhythm of the Mpotshane Gorge cutting its way through exquisite indigenous fauna and flora.

Sip evening cocktails around the fire in the lapa, lounge or on the deck, with million stars above and the bark of a bushbuck in the thickets across the way, the call of the night jar in the distance.

The Lodge offers accommodation for six couples in 6 en-suite thatched units. All units have electric lights, queen size beds with comfortable mattresses, rustic wooden headboards, rustic bedside tables and bedside lamps, bedside mats and chest of drawers etc.

The en-suite bathrooms feature a shower, (hot and cold water) basin and toilet. Each unit is also equipped with a wooden deck which overlooks the picturesque Mpotshane valley and gorge.

Activities:
Listen to the call of the Knysna Lourie, do some birdwatching or go for guided game drives. Our registered game guides will take you on a journey that you will never forget on the Mpotshane Game Reserve.

Guest Comments

Very happy with the accommodation especially as they allowed me to have all my dogs. They allowed me to park my vehicle near the rooms I occupied. We were able to go for a long walk with our dogs on lead. Will definitely be coming back. They were very accommodating.

I had the most relaxing weekend just re-charging the batteries in the calm and serene environment. The quad biking was really good fun, the food was of top quality - good sized portions and cooked just right. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and I felt right at home. Will definitely be going back there to recharge my batteries!
