Overview

Peace of Eden . . . This enchanting eco forest retreat styled Lodge nestles on the edge of indigenous forest where creativity abounds and the sounds and sights of nature will entertain you.
This eco Retreat offers a variety of creative accommodation options. You can choose to stay in a woodcutter cottage over looking fields and forest, a spacious loft style converted Barn Cabin, a cosy small Barn cabin close to paddocks and horses and a quaint double-storey cottage that oozes magical charm. For the more serious nature lover there are safari styled tents on timber decks in the forest.

This dream like destination is part of a ‘Conservancy’ in the heart of the Garden Route, only 15 km’s from Knysna along a picturesque country road leading to Rheenendal Village.

Your magical destination is close to Knysna Town, the lagoon, forests and the beautiful white sandy beaches of Buffalo Bay and Brenton on Sea, and with most of the popular attractions of the Garden Route a mere one hours drive away.

Influenced by its beautiful surroundings, Peace of Eden takes care to emphasize the wonder of it’s nature filled setting. Monkeys, bush buck, porcupine and a stunning variety of birds all find sanctuary here, amongst many others. Wake up to the sound of chattering monkeys and fall asleep to a symphony of frogs and crickets.

We have a resident FGASA nature guide and a licensed South African tour guide as part of our staff.

If you are a music enthusiast you may just be lucky enough to be visiting when they host an impromptu sunset soiree or are in the midst of recording the likes of Nate Maingard, Gary Thomas, Guy Buttery or Dan Patlansky in their award winning Music Studio.
Take time off to chill out at the lily pond, or partake of some healthy delights from the Vegetarian Bar or grab a surf board / mountain bike from the closest staff member and head off to explore the nearby forest, beach and Wilderness.

On site, get in touch with nature and pick veggies and herbs in the organic garden, feed the friendly horses an apple or explore the indigenous forest walks that meander down to a magical little stream where you are bound to have sightings of the stunning Knysna Loerie, shy bush buck and playful vervet monkeys that scamper along the forest canopy.

Whatever your reason for being here, it does not matter, just come and be, inspired.

Campsite Eco Stargazers 1 - Vegan

Eco campsites with a fire pit, nestled alongside the forest in a wild field with beautiful forest walks, stunning star gazing skies and a natural wimming pond. There are hot showers and compost toilet huts. No kitchen so be self sustainable :)

Campsite Eco Stargazers 2 - Vegan

Back to nature eco camping in a wild grassy field nestled alongside magical forests. There are 2 compost toilets and 2 showers. We have a large swimming lily pond for those super hot summer days. We serve gorgeous vegan breakfasts and occasional dinners

Deep Forest Tent

Forest Tents - A unique retro canvas Tent sleeping 2 each, on timber decks in the forest, with beds & linen. Communal kitchen, showers & loo's in rustic huts. Magical experience for nature lovers.- Our Forest Fauna Vegan Cafe offers delicious meals.

Firefly Forest Tent

Magical forest experience in a retro Tent on a timber deck with all the basic amenities for a comfy 'glamping' back to nature experience. Communal kitchen, showers & loo's.

Forest Glade Country Cottage

A lovely spacious Cottage set in a treed Glade. It has 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft style bedroom upstairs, 1.5 bathrooms, kitchen with a large open plan lounge with fireplace leading onto a covered veranda with lovely views of a wild nature garden.

Morning Star Forest Tent

Magical forest experience in a retro Tent on a timber deck with all the basic amenities for a comfy 'glamping' back to nature experience. Communal kitchen, showers & loo's.
