Overview
Rockwood Lodges are situated in the picturesque town of Howick on the Midlands Meander. There are four units in this group, two of which are situated in the private Karkloof Nature Reserve, and two which are situated on Spitzkop Farm, adjacent to the reserve.
Accommodation within the reserve consists of the six to eight sleeper Rockwood Forest Lodge and the six-sleeper Rockwood Mountain Lodge (approximately a 25 minute drive apart). Each of these units is only accessible by 4x4 vehicle. Accommodation found on the farm, consists of the four-sleeper Rockwood Farm Cottage and the eight-sleeper Rockwood Farm House.
At Rockwood Lodges, we cater for both the adrenalin junkie as well as the weary traveller in need of some tranquil R&R. Activities in the area include self-guided mountain biking and hiking trails, fishing, tree and bird spotting and the exhilarating Karkloof Canopy Tours which offer our guests a discounted rate.
Rockwood Lodges carries the prestigious 4-star rating with the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, is a proud Midlands Meander Member, as well as being accredited by Tourism KZN all of which will ensure that your stay with us is exactly what the doctor ordered! Rockwood Lodges was awarded AA Finalist Status in 2011 as well as Finalist in the 2011 SA Tourism Welcome Awards.
