Skeiding is one of those places that you fall in love with for no reason ... maybe it's the absolute peace and tranquility or the panoramic views of the Langeberg mountains or the bright stars at night or the mouthwatering food or the goodness of being close to nature ... that makes you want to come back.
Situated on high, open, rolling terrain you experience the feeling of freedom and being kind of alone with no neighbour in sight.
We, Neels and Anné-Lize, take great pleasure in making you feel welcome. Come and spoil yourself at our dining table with delicious farm cooking, take a walk with our dogs (Jessie and Dixi) or just be lazy next to the swimming pool.
Skeiding is an outdoorsy sort of place with bedrooms that have all you need ... even ostrich leather slippers! Make Skeiding your base and undertake day trips to Witsand, De Hoop Nature Reserve, Groot Vadersbosch, Swellendam and Barrydale (through the Tradouw pass) to name a few.
We farm with ostriches, Dohne merino sheep, the indigenous Nguni beef cattle and plant 600 ha of canola, wheat, barley and corander. You are welcome to become involved in the workings of the farm as far as possible. This could mean watching the 1500 ostriches being supplement fed in the morning on a "hands-on" farm tour with Neels.
You might even be lucky and see our two working dogs, Fiela (a Border Collie) and Flink (an Australian Kelpie) in action herding the sheep or ostriches. A friendly family farm and an education for city slickers.
Do come and enjoy our hospitality.
All credit cards are accepted when paying through Sleeping-OUT.
The facilities and service were of five star quality! Definitely a worthwhile "country life" experience. The kids enjoyed it thoroughly.

What a wonderful surprise to come across this establishment on our way home to Cape Town. My wife, 2 kids and I were really happy with our stay.
The service was great and the self catering cottage had everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable winters evening (the fireplace is great).
The host are super friendly and interactive, serving a lovely farm breakfast with all the trimmings and the most amazing jams. The farm drive is informative and a great way to see the farm.
We will definitely return and try and stay longer.
