WHEN YOU WAKE UP, CONSIDER: A visit to the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, it covers an astonishing 239 thousand hectares. The Isimangaliso Wetland Park comprises an additional 84 thousand hectares into the ocean, protecting marine wildlife and plants, as well as those found on land. Mangrove, dune, swamp and coastal forests are all found within the land area of this massive park, as well as characteristically African savannah grasslands and thornbush thickets. Under the sea, dramatic seascapes, including canyons and coral reefs make this area a premier destination for snorkeling and diving. Diverse flora and fauna and splendid natural beauty have made the Isimangaliso Wetland Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site......ALTERNATIVELY CONSIDER THE Hluhluwe IMFOLOZI GAME RESERVE: 50 Km and you find the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi. It's the oldest proclaimed park in Africa and boasts all of the Big Five namely- Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant. During the 1950s and 1960s, Hluhluwe was the focal point of a conservation effort aimed at bringing back rhino populations from the brink of extinction. The fight against rhino poaching continues to this day, and is a cause to which eco-tourists can make a valuable contribution.

Explore the lake on a hippo cruise, take a safari, go deep sea fishing or do whale and dolphin watching. There are walking trails, turtle tours, night drives and beach adventures.

There is a world of wonder waiting for you in the iSimangaliso World Heritage Site. We'll help you find it. St.Lucia - a very special slice of Africa, the greater St Lucia Wetland Park offers eco tourists some of the most diverse wildlife and outdoor experiences imaginable. For this reason it was declared a World Heritage Site in December 1999 .

The lake and surrounding area, as well as the Wetlands surrounding it, teems with hippos, crocodiles and many other wild animals. Birds include fish eagles, hornbills, Goliath herons, paddle-billed storks, green pigeons, Loerie's (3 species), narina, trogons etc. It is probably South Africa's best bird viewing area with over 520 species having been identified here...................................

North-east of St Lucia is Cape Vidal - a scenic sheltered bay which offers access to both the Indian Ocean and the eastern shore of Lake St Lucia. Cape Vidal offers a dream beach holiday and African safari in one - game viewing, sunbathing, swimming, angling, snorkeling and whale-watching. you can do it all at Cape Vidal, including treasure-hunting for the Kruger millions, rumoured to be have been aboard the Dorothea, a ship which ran aground here in 1898 but whose wreckage has not yet been found.

Dennis and Carol went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were most helpful, from booking tours to advising us on what to do and where to go. We will certainly go back.
