Overzicht
Strandlopertjies is a 6 sleeper stone cottage at the Mouth of the Breede River on the exclusive south bank of the river mouth. It is a modern, cosy cottage with an artistic ambiance. This place is a paradise for fishing (a meal of fresh fish per day is almost guaranteed) fly-fishing, kayaking (kayak available) wake-boarding, sailing, kite-surfing (rated as one of the 10 best kite-surfing spots in the world) and windsurfing. Infanta Bay (3 km away) is ideal for whale watching during the winter months (June to October). Walk along the cliffs at Infanta and watch them from above at a close distance.
Come and enjoy the quiet, sunny days of winter, or the sun drenched days of summer, ideal for all outdoor activities. Appreciate the peace and quiet, the beautiful unspoilt nature, breathtaking views and sounds of birds and water. Safe, shallow swimming for children.
Sit on the patio at sunset and see the blue cranes (South Africa’s national bird) flying in to settle down on the prawn beds for the night. Have a braai at sunset under the old milkwood trees and see the water turns silver in the last rays of the sun. This is the nearest one would get to heaven on earth.
Things to do in the area if you want to explore further:
Visit the last and only pontoon left in the country at Malagas. (20 min drive)
Visit the De Hoop Nature Reserve (45 min drive)
Go and drink a beer at the famous Bush Pub up river by boat or car. (20 min)
Enjoy breakfast or lunch of a sun downer at the Breede River Lodge just across the river.
Visit the picturesque town of Swellendam and the Bontebok Game Reserve. (1 hour drive)
Pay a visit to the most southern point of Africe at Agulhas and explore the fisherman’s towns of Waenhuiskrans and Struisbaai. (1 hour 15 min drive)

The last hour of the Road, from Swellendam to the Cottage is Gravel Road.
