Overview
Retaining much of its historic character, The Cock House offers self-catering rooms and is located in Makhanda (Grahamstown). The guest house is ideal as a base from which to explore the town's surrounding attractions and facilities each individually decorated room contains a private bathroom. Each room has a kitchenette with heat-and-eat appliances and borehole water access, a smart TV, a sitting area, and free Wi-Fi access, our Mandela Suite has access to a beautiful large patio.
Makhanda (Grahamstown) is situated in the Eastern Cape province. The city is home to Rhodes University, the Diocese of the Anglican Church of South Africa, and the College of Transfiguration Two large festivals take place annually in Makhanda (Grahamstown), namely the "National Arts Festival" in June/July and SciFest Africa in the first term of the year. The Arts Festival is the largest Arts Festival in South Africa and sees some of the leading talents in the South African and International arts scene.
Makhanda (Grahamstown) is conveniently situated as a mid-way stop over on the Durban route to Cape Town.
