Overview
The Farmers Cottage at the Karoo Pandok is situated in the green Karoo, in the historical town of Bethulie. The Farmers cottage is situated at the far end of the small holding, sleeps two, complete with fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, stoep and beautiful view of the Freestate koppies. This is also a pet friendly unit and fully enclosed. A cost of R75.00 per dog will be charged on arrival.
It is located on the northern banks of the Orange River, at the start of the Gariep Dam (also !Xhariep Dam, previously known as the Hendrik Verwoerd Dam). It also forms part the Lake Gariep (!Xhariep) Tourism Route which includes towns such as Oviston, Venterstad and Gariep, approximately 185km south of Bloemfontein, on route to Colesberg in the Western Cape and also from the Eastern Cape between the main national routes, the N1 and N6.
It can be accessed on the R701 from south via the Gariep Dam (Hendrik Verwoerd Dam) (54Km), from the North via Smithfield (65Km) and Aliwal North (98Km) or from the west from Springfontein (35Km) off the N1 - The perfect halfway stop between JHB, Cape Town and PE!
