Intaka Guest House is located in King Williams Town. It is the ideal choice for a stop-over as it is halfway between Cape Town and Durban on the N2, en-route to the Garden Route, the Wild Coast, Shamvari Game Reserve and the Addo Elephant Park.
Intaka offers both bed and breakfast, as well as self-catering units. There are 8 guest rooms as well as a freestanding 2 bedroom family house with open plan lounge and kitchen. The rooms and self-catering units are tastefully furnished and equipped with Wi-Fi, TV and limited DStv in rooms.
The main house has a communal lounge area with TV and a full selection of DStv. The kitchen can offer a variety of meals, from a basic breakfast to the most exquisite dishes. Outside there is undercover braai facilities, an open air fire pit and a swimming pool for guests to use. There is also secure off-street parking.

Our stay at Intaka guest house was not very pleasant - Firstly - I had booked the backpackers unit and not seperate rooms - no biggie - we decided to camp out there. The facilities were threadbare (glass shower door hanging on a thread, stove dirty and greasy, oven quite toxic and pans rusted through) and barely clean - the bedding was decent though but smelled of cigarette smoke. We arrived late Saturday afternoon after a 12 hr drive. My dad scores the guesthouse a 7/10 for being able to watch the rugby. I however, will be scoring them much lower as I ended up sleeping in my vehicle for a glorious 2 hrs (the owner/manager argued with me after I asked him to have the music turned down - he said that he had stood outside my window and could not hear a thing!). The afterparty carried on for quite some time, the music was too loud (luckily, my elderly parents managed to sleep through the noise), and the "permanent" guests were jolly (I, being the sole driver, desperately needed to sleep, as I had a another 16 hr shift ahead of me). My biggest bugbear was the fact that each tap was leaking (I'm from the Cape).
