Heritage Guest House, in the quaint Settler town of Alexandria on the coastal route (R72) between East London and Port Elizabeth, is housed in a building complex that has been serving travellers as a hostelry since 1852 and has been owner/managed for the past 27 years by hosts Kathleen and Peter Gordon.
The guest house has been steadily upgraded and in November 2007 was awarded 3 stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa
Heritage Guest House offers ten units comprising Doubles and Singles en suite, and Singles with private bathrooms.
We are known for our delicious country-style breakfasts. Other light meals can be ordered by arrangement.
There is a fully equipped kitchen for the use of guests wishing to prepare their own meals
Previously called Olifantshoek (Elephant's Corner) - yes, Addo elephants once roamed freely here - the town is officially called Alexandria, while the Xhosa name for it is Emnyameni which means "At the rainbow".
