Accommodation near 16 Mile Beach

16 Mile Beach is the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on the coastline of South Africa. The beach starts north of the main beach in Yzerfontein in the West Coast and continues up the West Coast National Park near Langebaan.

Due to its extensive length, the 16 Mile Beach never appears very busy so it's perfect for a peaceful stroll or a run. Horse-riding organisations also make use of the sandy shore and even ostriches make an appearance every now and again. The beach is ideal for kite-surfers as it can get windy during certain times of the year and whale watching is popular from September to November.

Distances are shown as the crow flies and not necessarily the actual travelling distance.

Yzerfontein is a beautiful place and a great choice if you're looking to get away from busy city life. The people are friendly and I loved the serene small-town feel.
