Accommodation near Arabella Golf Course

The Arabella Golf Course is a stunning example of a South African course. Its convenient location, under an hour from Cape Town, combined with the manicured fairways and breath-taking back drop have, unsurprisingly contributed to it regularly being voted among the top 10 golf courses in South Africa by some of the country's most prestigious golfing publications.

The 18-hole course was designed by none other than Peter Matkovich - one of South Africa's most renowned course designers, and has been enjoyed by the likes of Ernie Els, Gary Player and Samuel L Jackson.

It is situated on the Arabella Country Estate and forms part of the offering of the Arabella Hotel and Spa (which belongs to Protea Hotels' African Pride brand of hotels). This makes it the ideal place to head to if a luxury golfing holiday is what you're after!

You'll find the estate just outside Kleinmond in the Overberg region of the Western Cape - a decidedly scenic part of the province. Golfers will immediately be struck by the Kogelberg Mountain Range, which provides a calming presence, and the Bot River Lagoon, which compliments the mountain backdrop nicely. In all, the course has been designed to be private and tranquil, an atmosphere which is further enhanced by Arabella's landscaped gardens lining the course and the variety of birdlife which inhabits these gardens.

In addition to the course, patrons of Arabella will also have access to a pro-shop, regular golf clinics and professional coaching, chipping greens, a warm up range, putting greens, a bar, golf clubs for hire and golf carts installed with GPS.

Hermanus
I love the peace and quiet and the beautiful scenery. Also like that there are lots of shops and restaurants. Would like a mall though with movies and more activities for the kids.

Hermanus
I loved the experience in Hermanus this long weekend. Although the traffic was hectic from Cape Town. The town was not too crowded and we could get availability at the restaurants. Always pleasant going there.
Also we spotted Dolphins on the beachfront in Sandbaai. Very fortunate!!

Hermanus
Our third year staying typically for a month always preferring the eastcliff side of town so we can enjoy walking the coastal path and beach each morning. We also like the relaxed ambience of Hermanus, we always go to the Saturday morning market and feel like locals, the restaurants are friendly and varied whilst the Hemel en Aarde valley is close by for superb wines. Weather can be slightly more varied than Cape Town but if there for such a period it's fine and beats Europe in January!!!
