The hospital, which has 365 beds in total and 14 surgical theatres, is located in the small, leafy suburb of Les Marais. It lies north of Pretoria’s central business district and north west of the Union Buildings. The suburb is close to the National Botanical Gardens and the National Zoological Gardens.
The hospital offers a range of accommodation from private wards to semi-private and 4 bed wards. There are also services providing emotional support and information to patients and their families. These include birth preparation classes, counselling, health awareness programmes, rehabilitation programmes and support groups for cancer sufferers and diabetics among others.
Eugene Marais Hospital has a fully operational pharmacy and there is also a coffee shop, which operates from 07h30 to 20h00.
