Accommodation near Mzamba Beach

Mzamba Beach appeals to holidaymakers because it remains relatively uncrowded during peak season. Those wishing to take a dip in the ocean or frolic in the cascading waves can do so year round. With its warm current bathers need not worry about risking hypothermia. If you're wishing to try your hand at something new, wakeboarding is a popular water sport in the area with many professional South African and European wakeboarders residing in the area.

Many would agree that the beach is the hidden gem of Ebenezer; a rural, coastal town located the Eastern Cape.

While basking in the sun and swimming in the sea are what attracts people to Mzamba, the beach is home to the famous 'Petrified Forest'. The Petrified Forest' or the Mzamba Cretaceous Deposits as it's officially known as, is a set of marine fossil beds that are about 80 million year's old. These fossils, which can be seen in 10-metre high cliffs of sandstone and limestone, mainly comprise of ancient tree trunks and a myriad of fossils. As the fossils may go unnoticed by the untrained eye, interested parties are encouraged to embark on a beach tour with an informative guide.

Other nearby attractions include a waterpark, a river and a casino. The Wild Waves Waterpark is 2.5km away from the beach and provides lots of thrills and excitement as sliders whizz down the 'Boomeranga' water tube. The Mzamba River attracts flocks of tourists each year, because of its unrivaled natural beauty. The river spans 162 kilometres in length from the south of Port Edward. Plans to construct a 140-metre suspension bridge are currently underway, aiming to provide safer crossings for locals. For those wishing to try their luck at the roulette tables, The Wild Coast Sun has a variety of table games and slot machines to partake in.

Mzamba Beach forms part of a scenic, quaint town that promotes a sense of relaxation. Extend your visit by booking your stay in nearby establishments.

Port Edward
After seeing how dirty and run down Port St. John was, I am so happy I had picked Port Edward to stay. The town has a lot of western influence, was clean and people were friendly. The beach in our area was nice but not able to do a long walk on the beach due to rocky coast line. It was a good overnight stop, would not stay for long.

Port Edward
Excellent and one does not get "ripped off" for being on holiday. All facilities were good and very reasonably priced including the Vet - Dr. Watson - who we used for our four legged child and we can highly recommend him.
