Ratanga
Junction is a theme park and function
facility located in Milnerton, Cape Town. It is in Century City across the
way from Canal Walk and right next
to the Hillsong Church and Virgin Active gym.
Ratanga is
a favourite amongst residents and visitors. It is a fun filled, action packed theme park that also offers opportunities
for relaxation and family fun.
The park
has several adrenaline-fuelled rides and
other attractions for visitors, including children's rides, initiation
rides, and adult rides. While the rides are a permanent fixture, some of the
other attractions are seasonal, such as the World of Birds show and the
animal-petting zoo.
After
whizzing around on the rides, having your insides thrown about, Maggie's Picnic Area provides an often
needed 'chill' zone to just take a break from an otherwise busy day at Ratanga.
One can purchase picnic items and find a
spot beside the water, under a tree and enjoy a picnic with the family.
The most
popular rides are the Nashua Mobile Cobra
roller-coaster ride, a super thrill, the Congo Queen swinging boat which is arguably worse (or better) than
the Cobra due to its drawn out nature, giving you plenty of time to anticipate
the vast drop. Monkey Falls, which is a
log ride, offers something a little different. It’s a water ride with a terrifying 18 metre drop that will leave you sopping
wet.
One is more
than welcome to host 'a function at the
junction' in one of the special function venues. Anything, from birthday
parties, to street parties, to end of year functions - Ratanga Junction is open 364 days a year for functions and
general enjoyment.
