Gardens is one of the lovely suburbs which lies within walking distance of the Cape Town CBD. Its location in the City Bowl, enveloped by the renowned Table Mountain makes Gardens not only convenient, but a magnificently beautiful place to stay too.
Staying in Gardens is a great idea, especially for people who like to soak up that city buzz. Cape Town’s famed Long Street is a stone’s throw away and there are yet more drinking holes dotted up and down Kloof Street and the roads surrounding Long. The restaurant scene in the suburb is alive and well offering hungry visitors scores of options ranging from boutique delicatessens, to trendy sushi joints and upmarket burger places. The creativity is released upon the menus and the décor. Aside from restaurants, there are also many shopping opportunities in the area and art galleries and live music venues abound.
Slightly further afield, but still very much accessible, lies the Table Mountain cable car, the trail leading up to Lion’s Head and the Atlantic Seaboard – which has its own array of restaurants, shops and views.
In addition, the Cape Winelands are a mere 40 minutes away and the fishing villages of Kalk Bay and Simon’s Town make for lovely day trips on the train.
If you are thinking of visiting Cape Town (and you should be!), booking accommodation in Gardens should be a top priority. The ambience will keep you energised, the views will keep you sane and the location, simply put, is unbeatable
