Cape Town CBD is located within the aptly named City Bowl, unique in the way that a busy sea port, business centre, nightlife district and residential areas all happily co-exist within it. The CBD is an ideal spot to use as a gateway to travel from and explore what the Mother City has to offer. If you don’t plan on renting a car, and are staying at one of the backpackers in town, you can easily get around with public transport (trains and MyCiti buses), taxi services and the famous open-top City Sightseeing buses.

You don’t have to venture far from your hotel to be entertained though, taking a short walk through the city - either on your own or on one of the various walking tours - will unveil a host of things to do and see:
• The Houses of Parliament
• The South African Jewish Museum
• The District Six Museum
• Cape Town City Hall
• The South African National Gallery. 

While you’re visiting the National Gallery, take the time to explore the Company Gardens, a perfect spot to take a break, have a casual picnic and feed the many squirrels.

After a day of sightseeing, you can take advantage of the abundance of fine dining restaurants, quirky coffee shops, unique eateries, beer houses and bars to suit all tastes and budgets on your doorstep.

In terms of night time entertainment, the CBD has the best of what Cape Town has to offer.  You can catch a show at The Fugard Theatre, Artscape or Labia Theatre and end off your evening at one of the many bars and nightclubs that dot the streets of the Cape Town City Centre.
