Cape Town Street Food Festival 2016
The third Cape Town Street Food Festival makes its return to one of Cape Town's leading creative agencies, Side Street Studios on the 2nd September 2016.
The festival showcases the best of South Africa's street fare and is a way to preserve the best of local cuisine. Additionally, it provides a platform for talented street food entrepreneurs.
Street food festivals have been trending the world for some time now, and Cape Town’s version is the only one to hit South Africa. Attendees can expect a unique culinary experience of authentic street food.
With Cape Town’s multi-cultural population, the menu includes a diverse array of food; including Smileys (sheep's heads), Walkie Talkies (grilled or deep-fried chicken's heads and feet), samoosas, Thisha Nyama (braaied meat), Bunny Chows, Gatsbys, fish and chips, vetkoek, rotis, and so much more. The cuisine is prepared by some of South Africa's best street-food vendors.
Additionally, there will be a conference featuring a series of talks and workshops, on topics such as dealing with the media, logo and packaging design, food trends, food styling, marketing and making food your business.
The day will be rounded off with a special street food dinner collaboration, prepared by some of the speakers.
Entrance to the market is R50 and runs from 10:00 - 16:00.
