Hermanus Times Kalfiefees 2016
The Hermanus Kalfiefees is a highly anticipated cultural festival which coincides with the arrival of the Southern Right Whales, which is why the festival was given its name. The annual six-day event takes place in Onrus from 4-9 August 2016.
Apart from the star attractions, the Southern right whales, the Afrikaans-centred festival showcases the local talent - from productions and exhibitions to musical performances and topical discussions. Additionally, the Hermanus Kalfiefees falls over National Women's Day, which will be commemorated with a women-only lunch at the Harbour Rock Cafe.
The Hermanus Kalfiefees has been running for 15 years and is considered an offset of the renowned Hermanus Whale Festival.
The 2016 festival has a jam-packed lineup, offering entertainment to both young and old. Lovers of comedy can enjoy a barrel of laughter with actor couple, Diaan Lawrenson and Jody Abrahams. Alternatively, enjoy the melodious tunes of renowned Afrikaans musicians, Lize Beckmanm, Jamie Moolman and Corlea Botha. If drama and theatre are more up your alleyway, there are numerous fringe productions happening throughout the course of the event.
The show opens on the evening of the 4th of August and runs through till Sunday, August 9th in the afternoon.
