Pretoria Botanical Night Run Series 2016
With Summer coming to an end; runners, walkers, fitness fanatics and nature lovers are invited to participate in the fourth and final Pretoria Botanical Night Run. The event is set to take place on 4 May 2016 at the Pretoria National Botanical Garden.
Relax after a long day at the office with a short run or walk, while enjoying the crisp evening air. The 6-kilometre route takes you around the perimeter of the beautiful garden. The first few kays are easily conquerable, thereafter participants are presented with a slight challenge as they head over to 'The Koppie' and under a cascading waterfall.
As the event takes place at night, entrants are advised to bring a headlamp with them to guide them on the route. For the thirsty, a water table is available en route. To ensure that runners are heading in the right direction, marshalls will be positioned at strategic points along the way and the route is clearly marked. For the protection of the participants, a race sweeper will run at the back of the pack.
Please note that while the event promotes fitness and health, participants won't have to worry about cut-off times and can go at their own pace. The run will be timed by a Live-Time electronic tracker, meaning that runners need to buy a chip before the start of the race.
The first three men and women home win cash prizes and all finishers receive medals. One lucky runner stands the chance of winning a lucky draw prize.
End off your night with some live music and enjoy an evening picnic under the stars with family and friends.
