Turbine Art Fair 2018
The RMB Turbine Art Fair is a platform for galleries, artists, curators and other art organisations to promote upcoming and established talents of local artists in an accessible and enjoyable way.
This year it is taking place from 12-15 July 2018 at the iconic Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg.
The aim of this unique art show is to promote new work, showcasing raw talent and to create a new art audience and collector base. The show attracts a diverse crowd of visitors ranging from established collectors to art appreciators who are unaccustomed to purchasing art but are interested in starting up a collection.
Visitors to the show can expect to see over 50 galleries and exhibits showcasing the best contemporary and emerging African talent. While exhibitors for this year's event have not as yet been announced, judging by last year's turn of events, we can expect great things.
However, it is not just an art fair, it is truly a lifestyle event with live music performances, artisan food and drinks offerings, books and publications and a comprehensive children's programme.
The fair opens on Thursday 12 July 2018 at 6pm with a preview cocktail evening. On Friday it will be open from 10am to 8pm, on Saturday from 10 am to 6pm and finally on Sunday 17 July 2018 from 10am to 5pm.
