Overview
Addo Reach and Hein's Cottage, is situated in Alicedale and just an hour from Port Elizabeth, on excellent access roads. Hein's Cottage, a cosy home-from-home, fully equipped to guarantee your comfort and privacy, and there are three comfortable bedrooms (with own entrance) in the main house aka Addo Reach. Ours is a non-smoking establishment inside, but the garden is big where we are also able to host a camper or two having just completed a splendid shower and toilet facility, with the added advantage of an undercover braai on the veranda.
This is a secure, small town, in the heart of 1820 Settler Country. Surrounded by Addo Elephant Park, Kwantu, Pumba, and Scotia, to name but a few, all offering excellent game viewing, including The Big Five and being malaria-free you are assured of choices in what to do.
The historic and picturesque town of Grahamstown, the City of Saints, hosting among other things the famous Grahamstown Festival every year in June/July, is very much a part of Frontier Country which oozes with history.
Regrettably our Golf Course is closed for the moment - mixture of drought and management, BUT WATCH THE SPACE for ifv golf is your game, the challenging 18-hole Gary Player Golf Course is within walking distance. Whilst waiting for this event tohappen, the area offers excellent opportunities to use your mountain bike, take long and safe walks ..... or indeed, you could just relax, sleep late, read, paint, .... just be far from the madding crowd!! With advice at time of reservation, we are able to cater breakfast and dinner (at an extra charge), would be happy to organise braai packs for you, and do basic shopping in time for your arrival.
Our is a laid back space, but we guarantee the warmest of welcomes and look forward to the opportunity of proving that to you!!!

Cosy self catering cottage, spacious bedroom (single beds) with full en suite bathroom - bed can be made in to a king size, and the cane day couch makes for comfortable sleeping for a 'medium' sized guest at an additional charge of R350.00 per night Everything you need to self cater, with private braai area, patio, and parking behind a locked gate. Ceiling fan, hairdryer, DSTV, DVD/CD player. Laundry service available. Whilst we can't offer the buzz of night clubs etc., we can ensure a variety of bird life, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, excellent biking trails and the warmest of welcomes!!

The African Violet Room

Offering a double bed, and ensuite shower and toilet, this my favourite, named after my Mum. Happily decorated with goodies belonging to my Gran, my Mum, and those great folk, guests tell me 'tis a good experience. Hospitality toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits with our compliments, and a service each morning of an extended stay. With no self catering facilities, we can offer breakfast at additional cost, and a 2-course dinner if you would like that. Alternatively there is a braai on the veranda, and could always find space in our fridge, if you preferred to do your own thing.

Twin beds - that can be made into a King if preferred or pushed apart if necessary. This room has an ensuite shower and toilet, and with a desk/dressing table for those needing to work it really is a good place to be. Hospitality toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, are replenished, with our compliments, on each day of extended stays, when the room is serviced to dry towels, freshen the bathroom. It has an independent entrance, making it easy for our guests to come and go at their convenience, and your car is parked in the garden behind a sliding gate.

Spacious bedroom with full ensuite (over bath shower), and queen sized bed. A desk makes working on computers comfortable and tea, coffee, etc., together with hospitality toilets come to you with our compliments. The room has an independent entrance, which makes life easier for you, and parking is in the garden behind sliding gate. Overhead fan keeps you cool in the summer, and a heater and hot water bottles provided in the winter. For stays longer than one night, rooms are serviced on each morning of your stay. No smoking in the house, but the garden offers a peaceful place .....
