Overview

Kabbelrus is a 116 year old beautifully restored Victorian establishment dating back two centuries. It is situated in the picturesque village of De Rust, at the foothills of the majestic Swartberg Mountain & at the entrance of Meiringspoort - the gateway to the Great Karoo. There is a splash pool & green grass for relaxation. Restaurants & novelty shops are within walking distance & tourists have a choice of different walks in & around the village. One of the many attractions around De Rust is the world famous Cango Caves (35km) & the other the majestic Meiringspoort (2km). This quaint little town also forms part of the Route 62 that meanders from Cape Town through the wine valleys, Klein Karoo, Langkloof & beaches of Jeffreys Bay, Port Elizabeth & Addo National Park.

The charming village of De Rust is situated at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains in the Little Karoo. De Rust is a scenic little town with beautiful Karoo houses situated amongst some steep Swartberg foothills. After climbing one of these hills in town, you will reach the top from where you will have spectacular views towards the majestic Swartberg and Kammanassie Mountains. We like to think that the little Karoo has big offerings. You can reach Oudtshoorn and the Cango caves in 30 min drive. George and the rest of the Garden Route is all less than an hours drive away. The Swartberg pass and the very famous road to the Hell (Gamkaskloof) are both attractions for outdoor enthusiasts. Fishing, mountain biking, birdwathcing and wine tasting are some of the activities available.

This cottage is nostalgic with new and old elements. Fully equipped kitchen, open plan - 2 comfortable rooms - each with it's own aircon - main bedroom do have en-suit bathroom with a bath only. Lounge area. Self Catering - NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED.

Houtkapper

Houtkapper is a Self Catering Unit with 3 bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with lounge and dining area. Braai facility on the outside. The main bedroom do have a en-suite bathroom (bath) and an 2nd bathroom in unit sharing (shower). Can accommodate 9 Guests max.

Kwikkie

One bedroom with double bed and bathroom with bath. Kettle and small fridge. Entrance onto stoep overlooking the foothills of the Swartberg Mountain. Access to splash pool and garden. Undercover parking.

Self-Catering Cottage

One bedroom with Queen bed, a small lounge and a small, fully equipped kitchenette. Bathroom with slipper bath and separate shower. Private undercover stoep. Braai facility. Secure parking. Splash pool. Mountain views.

Sunbird 1 & 2 (Family en-suite)

Two rooms sharing a bathroom with a shower. Sunbird 1 with a double bed and Sunbird 2 with two single beds. Sunbird 2 leads through Sunbird 1 to the bathroom. Kettle and small fridge. Access to splash pool and garden. Own stoep overlooking the Swartberg.
