The Haven Hotel is a family and adventure destination located within the Cwebe/Dwesa Nature Reserves on the Transkei Wild Coast of South Africa.
Blessed with sea, sun and endless things to see and do, it offers a way of life that lets you forget the rest of the world and relax in the most secluded and unspoiled surroundings.
Established over 50 years ago, the Haven comprises of 38 spacious en-suite chalets scattered within a tranquil, garden-like environment.
Located at the mouth of the Mbashe river, the Haven has long been renowned as one of the prime fishing destinations in South Africa.
But that is only one of the many reasons to visit this unique Transkei Wild Coast resort. Some of the other activities you can enjoy include horse riding, tennis, golf, hiking, bird watching, canoeing, whale- and dolphin-watching, snorkeling.
The favourite pastime of our guests, however, seems to be . . . simply relaxing.

At the Haven, you can do as much as you want, or as little - the choice is yours.
Food & Drink
Food at The Haven ranges from casual poolside braais to seafood platters. Three meals a day are provided in the dining room.
Breakfast usually consists of fruit juice, porridge of the day, various cereals, toast, eggs to order, bacon with sausage or tomatoes or beans etc.
Lunch is normally a simple hot meal such as macaroni, spaghetti, lasagne. sausage and mash, fish and chips, chicken and chips etc and cold meats and salads.
Dinner is normally a soup starter, fish entree, a main course and pudding. Tea and coffee are available at all times.
We have a seafood platter once a week and a braai on Sundays.
The hotel has a carefully selected wine list with a variety of tastes and prices to suit a wide range of palates (and pockets).
A full bar service is available and the cosy bar boasts a full size billiards table and many artifacts from the Oceanos ship disaster which happened nearby.
There are no self catering facilities although the chef is always willing to cook your fresh catch. For those who wish to get away or go hiking, lunch packs can be pre-ordered from the kitchen. Cooler boxes are also available for sun downers on the river or on our beautiful Wild Coast beach.
