Moreleta Park Verblyf
Moreleta Park is located in Pretoria, South Africa’s executive (administrative) capital. It forms one of the most south easterly suburbs of Pretoria, which puts it in a good position where transport links are concerned. The suburb has easy access to the N1, N4 and the R21, which in turn make access to Pretoria’s CBD, Johannesburg and Centurion very easy.
Moreleta Park is a quiet, upmarket neighbourhood. Strolling the streets or taking a drive around will reveal many large homes with suitably large gardens, flourishing in the spring months and defined by green lawns and colourful flowers. An increasing trend in Gauteng is toward the gated community and Moreleta Park is no different. There are a number of townhouse complexes and housing estates.
One such estate is the Woodhill Golf Estate, considered one of the top 100 golf courses in South Africa. There are a number of other golf courses in the area too, including Wingate Park and Silver Lakes. Needless to say, Moreleta Park is a great place to get aquainted with if you enjoy a round of golf!
Some of the attractions in greater Pretoria which are easily accessible from Moreleta Park include the tiny village of Irene and Rietvlei Nature Reserve. Irene is located within an easy driving distance of the suburb and makes for a wonderful day out, especially if you catch the village market which takes place on alternating Saturdays. The village of Irene is renowned for putting one in mind of an English settlement, and the market’s venue at the Smuts House Museum imbues the whole event with an old world charm.
The Rietvlei Nature Reserve on the other hand makes you feel like you’re in the African bush, despite being in the centre of an urban area. It is 3800 hectares big and is home to a variety of antelope like waterbuck, eland and wildebeest. There are even some white rhinos roaming around.
All this and more awaits you in Moreleta Park.
