Warner Beach Logement
Warner Beach is a tiny resort town on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast. It lies about 7 kilometres south of Amanzimtoti, just south of the Little Manzimtoti River, and north of Winkelspruit. It is only about a 30 minute drive from Durban, and the only thing which separates the town from the beach is the railway line, an idyllic and convenient setting to say the least.
Warner Beach was first established in the early 1900fs. It was 1910 when the land surveyor PA Warner, after which the settlement is named, put down the first plans for the town. It was being developed as a residential area for government pensioners and deemed suitable for its tranquil location and proximity to the big city.
Today Warner Beach is more or less self-sufficient with its own schools and shopping centres. Obviously it appeals to more than just pensioners these days and youfll find a mixture of families, retirees and tourists mingling on the beach front. The beach and shopping centres tend to offer one everything one needs but should you require something thatfs unavailable in the town, there is little doubt that youfll be able to find it 5 minutes down the road in Amanzimtoti.
Warner Beach boasts a beautiful subtropical climate which is tempered by the cool breeze which sometimes comes off the Indian Ocean. However, the weather and sea are warm enough year-round to make swimming and playing on the beach fun throughout the year.
Warner Beach is a renowned surfing spot on the KwaZulu Natal coast, paddle-skiers, kite-surfers, kayakers and fisherman all get pleasure from the beach here. The annual sardine run tends to draw a particularly large crowd to the area thanks to the spectacular of dolphins, sharks and sea birds which follow the sardines.
The famous dive spot, Aliwal Shoal is close by too.
