Zinkwazi Beach Verblyf
Zinkwazi Beach is one of the gems of KwaZulu Natal's North Coast. It is a tiny haven for birdwatchers, keen fishermen and beach lovers of all persuasions, located next to the Zinkwazi Beach Nature Conservancy. The area is best known for its lagoon, the estuary of the Zinkwazi River.
Its location next to the nature conservancy gives the beach here a calm, tranquil feeling. It is surrounded by coastal dunes and jungle-like vegetation, giving one a happy, isolated sensation - perfect for those escaping the big city. Perhaps the best part is that this idyllic area is only 85 kilometres north of Durban, can be reached within half an hour of the King Shaka International Airport and is roughly 6 hours from Gauteng.
Once you arrive you'll be taking by both the never ending length of the beach as well as the broad width. You can do some serious beach walking here, and when you return, take a dip in the warm Indian Ocean. There are shark nets up and the beach is patrolled by life guards during the high season.
Other ways to spend your time at Zinkwazi Beach, apart from lazing around enjoying the warm, subtropical climate, are to go fishing, a popular activity here. You could also take the ferry across the lagoon, jump into a canoe or laze around on a lilo enjoying the felling of calm descending on you.
The tiny town boasts an active ski-boat club, complete with a bar on the beach, as well as a charter boat company. This is good news as the North Coast's alternative name is the Dolphin Coast, an indication of the many dolphins and whales which frequent this coastline.
Nearby there are some outstanding golf courses and some of KwaZulu Natal's game reserves are within an easy driving distance.

The beach is beautiful and empty. But the sea is rough, not ideal for swimming.
