Mooinooi Accommodatie
Mooinooi is situated in the North West province, resting at the foot of the majestic Magaliesberg Mountains. The area is a popular destination among outdoor fanatics and is also commonly selected for out of town conferences. Its proximity to cities like Johannesburg (100 kilometres away), Pretoria (80 kilometres away) and Rustenburg (40 kilometres away) make it a convenient destination for a quick weekend break.
The town of Mooinooi itself for a long time enjoyed a lucrative mining industry. The small town was well-known for extracting platinum and palladium and did very well out of the industry. However after the international financial recession, the town suffered economically and has never really bounced back.
The areas just outside of town though, unaffected by the global economy continue to thrive. After all, the Magaliesberg will remain beautiful even in the midst of an economic crisis! Guest farms in the area provide a tranquil place to escape to and really convey the essence of the African bush.
Many people visit and do little more than laze by the pool and listen to the sounds of Africa. However to really experience the area it’s best to get out there. There are numerous hikes to be done in the mountain for example and there are a number of great golf courses nearby.
The Mooinooi Golf Club’s 9-hole course is among the best in South Africa and the award-winning courses at Sun City and Pecanwood are a stone’s throw away too. The Buffeslpoort Dam is another source of entertainment in the area, with fishing aplenty, shaded picnic spots and water sports galore.
