Season of Sauvignon 2015

The much-anticipated award-winning festival makes its return in celebration of summer and the start of wine season. Lovers of white wine can sample Sauvignon Blanc varietals at 12 participating wineries in and around the Durbanville Valley. Featured wine farms include De Grendel, Diemersdal, Nitida, Hillcrest, Durbanville Hills, Klein Roosboom, Meerendal, Bloemendal, Altydgedacht, Groot PhizantekraalD’Aria and Signal Gun. Taste a wide range of internationally recognised wines and engage with expert winemakers on their produce.

While the wine is the main attraction of the event, there is also a delectable food spreads to indulge in, kid-friendly activities and craft stalls promising eclectic market knickknackery.

For all the self-proclaimed foodies out there, you'll be spoilt for choice with the delicious, home-made food up for grabs. From sushi and spit braais to flammkuchen and gourmet pizzas the young and more matured taste buds will be catered for.

Every parent dreads those 'I'm bored' utterances from their kids, but at Season Of Sauvignon this is a thing of the past with their wide range of kids' activities. While you sip on your glass of vino, your kids will be kept entertained on a bumpy tractor rides through the vineyards, jumping castles, face painting, mechanical bull rides or be glued to the outdoor movie screen.

If you're looking to travel in style why not give the popular Durbanville Sauvignon Wine Ferry helicopter experience a try. Take to the skies with the Base 4 Aviation takes passengers on a three- stop day experience via De Grendel, Durbanville Hills and Meerendal.

For the more adventurous or fitness junkie, there are also a series of Mountain bike and trail runs to participate in - be prepared for some challenging uphills and steep descents. If you not much of an adrenaline junkie then make your way to the many craft stalls for as the eclectic assortment of wares to take home with you.

And don't be in a rush to get home for the rugga, many of the wineries will have large TV screens for you to watch the game at.
